The value of data — and the innovative way we’re using it

In the relocation industry, there is an enormous amount of data attributed to every single relocation. For each assignee who is moving to a new location, their destination, origin, family size and contact details are all required. Additionally, their requirements for their new home are recorded, including budget, area requirements, property type and size and required start date. Meanwhile, there is a multitude of data on the current rental market, including the number of properties available, the average rents, property sizes and property locations.

For other relocation companies, this information seems like a big mass of datapoints. At Icon, we use our award-winning technology and analytics to make sense of all this data to streamline the relocation processes for assignees — ultimately, making the process less stressful for those relocating, and lowering the cost for our clients. We have been using our case management system, MoveWise, for years to track all relocation activity, producing extensive data on property hotspots, rental values, budgets and far more. We have also been tracking the rental market to get a real-time insight into stock levels, rental values and more to give the best, most up-to-date information to our assignees.
